Dear Black Hills Member,
In late 2010 the largest property owners of the Black Hills
Lease sold all of their Black Hills land holdings (9,000+
acres) to a new company. We were not afforded the
opportunity to discuss the sale and were not contacted until
after the deal was completed. We have been informed by the
new owners that the property will not be available for
lease. This means the Black Hills Hunting Lease will be
reduced to approximately 3,000 acres.
We have had discussions with the new owner’s representatives
and were told unequivocally that they have no interest in
leasing their property. However, as we stated above, 3,000
acres of the lease remains manageable.
With the drastic reduction of our acreage, Black Hills
Management will be forced to decrease the amount of members
on our lease. A new map, outlining our new acreage position,
will be enclosed with our mailing.
Due to the acreage reduction, the Black Hills Lease must be
reduced to a maximum of 250 members. Therefore, we are
giving our previous leases the first right of refusal to
join the upcoming lease.
As stated above, Black Hills Management has been forced to
drastically decrease its amount of members. Black Hills
Management will accept members on a “first come, first
serve” basis. Essentially, this means the first 250
applications we receive will be afforded a membership for
the upcoming lease season. An application is enclosed for
the upcoming lease season. We urge you to return your
application promptly if you wish to rejoin our lease. After
July 1, 2011, if we have not reached our goal of 250
members, we will begin to solicit new members.
In closing, it is unfortunate our lease has been downsized.
However, our management team is looking forward to a bright
future and we are actively pursuing additional properties to
lease. Although our lease is not as large as it once was,
Black Hills Management remains confident it can provide
sportsmen a place to call their hunting home.
Black Hills Management thanks you for your past support and
encouragement and wish you the best in any and all hunting
that you do.
Our best regards,
Black Hills Management |
