Remarks:
The cabin is located about one mile east
of the Quehanna Wild Area on Deible
Road. It is a 171/2' X 15' cabin with
two rooms. Bedroom is 61/2' x 14'
Kitchen/Living area 14" x 9 1/2'.
This cabin was built as close as we can
tell during the Depression. Significant
fact about this cabin and lease is that
it may be used where it is with
renovation, or the cabin may be removed
and a new cabin constructed at the
present site or another location may be
selected by the lessee for approval by
the Bureau of Forestry. There are over
183,000 acres in the Moshannon State
Forest for the selection of a site
except for within the area of the
Quehanna Wild Area. Copies of the

Special attention is called to sections
C. & D. It is also noted that new cabin
site leases are not being made.
Added Information: Present
location as almost within sight of the PA
Game Commissions offices where the Elk
Hunt checking station is located. It is
just outside the Quehanna Wilds area
and nature hiking trails, Grant Trail
and the Quehanna Trail are very near
with direct access to the Quehanna.
The elk herd is growing and with
frequent sightings occurring. Hunting
for turkey, bear, deer and grouse can be
done over a vast area. For more
